As part of the implementation of the overall concept for climate-friendly
commercial vehicles, the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital
Infrastructure (BMVI) has set up a task force. The task force will deal with
minimum standards for retrofitting conventionally powered commercial vehicles
with alternative, climate-friendly drives. As a retrofitting pioneer, e-trofit
GmbH expressly welcomes this initiative of the BMVI. From the very beginning,
the company has been committed to the highest standards in terms of safety and
quality in its retrofitting kits for the electrification of buses in public
transport and trucks in the heavy-duty sector.
operational reliability for fleets in the commercial vehicle sector
force initiated by the BMVI is an important signal to the market and an
elementary prerequisite for establishing retrofitting on the market as a
technologically high-quality complement to new electric vehicles - in order to
achieve the climate targets more quickly by joining forces. As a renowned
developer and manufacturer offering the highest quality and safety standards
for reliability and functional safety according to the criteria of the
international automotive industry, we are happy to play a role in shaping this
development," explains Andreas Hager, CEO of e-troFit GmbH.
upcoming new federal funding guidelines expected for the second quarter of 2021
and the associated equalization of the procurement of converted vehicles and
new vehicles, it is immensely important, especially in this early phase, to
focus on the quality aspect of the solutions offered. For safe and reliable
use, a catalog of requirements with minimum standards, which should also be
decisive when considering eligibility for funding, is absolutely purposeful.
After all, the long-term goal of business and politics must be to continue to
underpin Germany's and Europe's role as innovation leaders in the international
automotive industry. As e-troFit, we are one of the main pillars of the still
young retrofitting industry and want to shape its promising future from the
safety require professional vehicle development at series level.
The primary goal of
e-troFit is to produce safe, robust and reliable zero-emission vehicles. In the
conversion process, in addition to the pure replacement of components, the
vehicles are refurbished so that they are in no way inferior to new electric
commercial vehicles and enable a service life of at least ten years. To achieve
this result, a vehicle manufacturer's development expertise and the
corresponding vehicle construction know-how are crucial. With the right partner
selection and qualification, the vehicle conversion work derived from this is
the complementary element for a high-quality and absolutely reliable mobility
software in electric vehicles of the future is already a decisive unique
selling point. With the electrification kit based on series components and the
Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), the heart of their mobility solutions, e-troFit
sets the highest standards, which correspond to the level of the major OEMs in
the commercial vehicle market. Equally high importance is attached to the
control of air conditioning or telematics services in vehicles.
With the certification
of its internal development processes at series vehicle level and the
intellectual property in its own software, e-troFit has a head start of three
to four years on the international competition.
sustainable solution in the commercial vehicles sector
electrification kits, e-troFit delivers not only a high-quality, but the most
efficient mobility solution overall currently available for achieving the Clean
Vehicles Directive, which will come into force in 2021. Fleet operators are thus
provided with an important tool for designing an emission-free vehicle fleet.
Green Mobility as a
Service solution - in addition to technological expertise, the e-troFit team
also offers support with regard to possible government subsidies. Their full-service
offering ranges from financing to project planning and implementation of
charging infrastructure solutions.
